James has worked at Birch since 2016, starting intermittently as a student before graduating from the University of Auckland in 2018 with his masters in planning and urban design (with honours). Following this, James has been working at Birch full-time. James’ role at the company covers all things planning, this includes preparing feasibility analyses, consenting/policy documents and offering planning support to other staff members. Over the years James has gained broad experience in a wide range of urban and rural projects for a variety of activities. James is especially passionate about policy development, environmental law and resource management reform.
Outside of work, James can be found doing work around his farm, socialising with family and friends or staying up to date on news over a cup of coffee.
